The would imagine Lion being "in" the picture, as in Lion being inside the actual materials supporting the picture..!
The author's observations are spot on. However, I think his idea that this can change, or that people's fundamental metaphors for sexuality can change, are completely wrong headed, and merely wishful thinking.
