Quel Solaar
This is part of the larger VERSE system, which is, as far as I can tell, totally awesome. Reminds me of the VOS (Virtual Object System,) as well.

Anti-Technology Sentiment
"Most people won't admit their love of technology because in order to defend all that technology brings to your life, it would mean defending the one thing that most philosophy attacks: the love of your own life and yourself. With most people feeling guilty about being alive because of Adam & Eve and/or because we take up space on the planet where another endangered species of cockroach could live instead, it's no surprise that people haven't made an argument against anti-technology enthusiasts."

Reflections on Gandhi // George Orwell
"Close friendships, Gandhi says, are dangerous, because "friends react on one another" and through loyalty to a friend one can be led into wrong-doing. This is unquestionably true. Moreover, if one is to love God, or to love humanity as a whole, one cannot give one's preference to any individual person."

Why Socialists Don't believe in Fun // George Orwell
Video games and stories both entertain. We replace fear of violence, starvation, oppression, (and happiness in freedom from them,) with abstract tension and release: Learning maps and learning new skills (expertise.) Is utopia a land of games, and loving game players? Competition within a framework of cooperation? Or is this futile, and must people hate each other, to the core of their being, ready to commit murder, if there is to be meaningful love? Compare with Bioroids and in utopia Olympus in Appleseed. Though, Deunan seems to accept the superiority of the Bioroid way of life: Passion and inhuman care coexist. See also Reflections on Ghandi: A human cannot be a saint.
