I'm starting to think that they are very useful. If you could state, gpl implies open-source. They would be even more useful. But watch those implications.

the reason I like darcs is because you can take a copy modify it and send the changes back what if you could set up a system where additions to this site would be fetched and incorporated in another and this site would do the same there would be two copies but one community
another important reason I like darcs is because repositories can be merged as long as there are no conflicting changes many more things could be like this especially unalog there is no reason why as I say later that one could not set up their own copy and have the changes synchronized we would have to deal with authentication in some way and some way of mapping local and remote authentication domains
